Invitation to the PRES 2018 conference, 25-29 August 2018, Prague, Czech Republic

Dear Colleagues and PRES Family,

It is our pleasure to announce that the world-leading conference PRES 2018 - the 21st Conference on Process Integration, Modelling and Optimisation for Energy Saving and Pollution Reduction - will held in Prague, the capital city of the Czech Republic, from 25 to 29 August 2018. The official Call for Papers for PRES 2018 is now available on the dedicated conference website. You and your research group are invited to participate in PRES 2018.

PRES 2018 will be held jointly with 23rd International Congress of Chemical and Process Engineering - Congress CHISA. Together, the two conferences will cover a range of important topics with focus on addressing global challenges in energy, water, pollution, and sustainability using classical chemical engineering approaches, enhanced by many interdisciplinary collaborations.

The PRES conference series started in Prague in 1998, and since then they have been held in Budapest, Hungary (1999), Prague (2000), Florence, Italy (2001), Prague (2002), Hamilton, Canada (2003), Prague (2004), Taormina, Italy (2005), Prague (2006), Ischia, Italy (2007), Prague (2008), Rome, Italy (2009), Prague (2010), Florence, Italy (2011), Prague (2012), Rhodes, Greece (2013), Prague (2014), Kuching, Malaysia (2015), Prague (2016), Tianjin, China (2017) and, in 2018, it returns to Prague once again.

A very attractive part of PRES conferences is the publication of selected papers in Chemical Engineering Transactions included in SCOPUS, ISI Thompson Reuters and EI Compendex. A number of Special issues are expected for post-conference publishing of extended manuscripts and they are listed in the conference flyer.

More details about the conference and the venue can be found below and by visiting the DEDICATED WEBSITE for CHISA and PRES 2018.

We are looking forward to receiving your contributions!

Warm Regards,

PRES 2018 President

Publication Policy

Abstracts for PRES 2018 will undergo peer-review over December and January with abstract acceptance notification sent out by 31 January 2018. PRES manuscripts, limited to 6 pages to prevent similarity with the future publication of full-size papers, are due 16 March 2018 with revisions and final acceptance completed by 30 April 2018.

Peer reviewed and accepted manuscripts from PRES 2018 have the option to be published in:

1. Chemical Engineering Transactions. Paper templates for CET and conference proceeding (non-CET) publications will be available on the dedicated conference website by 31 January 2018. CET is covered by SCOPUS and ISI Thompson Reuters. Full-text manuscripts must undergo a full peer review by at least two reviewers and must be prepared according to the CET template and submitted together with the signed Copyright Transfer Authorisation. Each paper will be available online open-access and assigned a DOI by AIDIC. For publication CET, papers must have at least one registered author and settled any additional publication fees (e.g. second paper) by the required deadlines.

PRES 2018 aims to publish Special Issues of Journal of Cleaner Production, Energy, Clean Technology and Environmental Policy to report on extended contributions presented at PRES 2018.

2. Journal of Cleaner Production, IF (2016) = 5.715, Elsevier – invitation for 40 papers. JCLEPRO serves as a transdisciplinary, international forum for the exchange of information and research concepts, policies, and technologies designed to help ensure progress towards making societies and regions more sustainable. It aims to encourage innovation and creativity, new and improved products, and the implementation of new, cleaner structures, systems, processes, products, and services. Co-Editors-in-Chief: J.J. Klemeš (Brno University of Technology, Czech Republic), C.M.V.B. de Almeida (Paulista University, Brazil), and Y. Wang (Fudan University, China).

3. Energy, IF (2016) = 4.520, Elsevier – invitation for 40 papers. Energy provides a platform for publications geared toward energy saving and pollution reduction from the entire value chain in energy sourcing, generation, supply, and use. Energy is an international, multi-disciplinary journal in energy engineering and research. It aims to be a leading platform and an authoritative source of information for analyses, reviews and evaluations related to energy. The journal covers research in mechanical engineering and thermal sciences, with a strong focus on energy analysis, energy modelling and prediction, integrated energy systems, energy planning and energy management. Editor-in-Chief: H. Lund (Aalborg University, Sweden), Subject Editor: P S Varbanov (Brno University of Technology, Czech Republic).

4. Clean Technologies and Environmental Policy, IF (2016) = 3.331, Springer – invitation for 25 papers. CTEP covers the scientific innovations related to clean technologies and policy issues. It stresses the concept of sustainable development as means of protecting the environment for all mankind, demands that future manufacturing technologies must be cleaner, yet economically sound. Editor-in-Chief: S.K. Sikdar (Retired from National Risk Management Research Laboratory, United States Environmental Protection Agency, USA).
